Why Law Enforcement? Per Nate Andre

Why Law Enforcement? Per Nate Andre

When asked, "how in the world did you get involved in law enforcement?" Nate said:

“I just wanted to be in law enforcement. I think coming from Haiti where there wasn’t a sense of safety, there wasn’t a sense of being able to go home and feeling like your life was going to be taken.

I love the confidence that I have when either a firefighter or police officer shows up on the scene. It would immediately make me calm, whether it was in the U.S. or Haiti.

I want to provide that comfort to others. I think whenever you’re wearing the badge and you show up on scene, people automatically feel more at ease. In the same token, coming from Haiti, there were some serious crimes there. I want to see justice be done.

Being able to find the bad guy or track them down, it’s almost a game of chess. There’s some smart people out there that do bad things, I want to be smarter and put the pieces together to find them. There’s some fulfillment I get professionally in law enforcement that I don’t think I’d be able to get anywhere else.”
